Welcome To The Tangerine Club

History

A little history! Hi, I'm Jax, owner of The Tangerine Club. "Why is it called The Tangerine Club?" I hear you ask. Well, I named it in honour of my late mother, who used to tell us of her great nights at The Tangerine Club in London in the late 1940s, thus it was my dream for many years to set up a venue in her memory.

I spent my birthday, January 6th 2011 at a dear friend’s funeral. The wake was held at the premises where the club now is. As I sat with my late friend’s family, it was as if she was speaking to me, 'Do it, this is the perfect place. Life is too short.' And so The Tangerine Club was born.

I felt there was little for those who had grown out of clubbing yet needed to have a good time, listen to good music and dance the night away - an over 30s venue seemed perfect!

Set between Greenbank and Sefton Park, The Tangerine Club is away from the busy town. Because the club opens its doors to the more chilled among us, there is a great relaxed friendly atmosphere.

First Friday of the month is ‘Soul and Motown Night’, with guest 'live' artists, supported by our resident D.J. Macca Khan. Doors open 8.00pm, bar and dancing ‘til 1.00am. With free CCTV car park and we are fully accessible.

Last Sunday of the month is 'Quickly Come Dancing', our Vintage Tea Party, an afternoon of ballroom dancing, taking a cup of tea in the best vintage china and feasting on our delicious homemade cakes. 2.00pm to 5.00pm.
